This piece has stained wood edges and the original technique I used to make this work. I like how the stain picks up some of the wood hues from the photograph as that was the idea behind staining the edges.
I no longer use this technique for the edging because of the time it takes to do but I’m very happy with how this piece looks.
I was also thankful to be allowed to wander around photographing a whiskey distillery in Campbeltown, Scotland. Springbank Distillery.
