I had just left a shoot that didn’t go well. all the planning, the waiting on the right weather, mapping everything out and the shoot was a bust. pulling up alongside this abandoned stretch of road, getting out and walking along it for awhile, I came across this tree. growing out of the middle of that side of the road. what a tree, what a message. maybe not just for me, but at the time it sure seemed like it.
Which influenced my choice to hand mount archival prints onto wood. this technique creates a painting like depth and texture while maintaining the rawness of the outdoors.
