The west coast temperate rainforest is beautiful. I think a big part of that beauty is the old growth that surrounds the new growth. Nurse trees are the remnants of old trees and out of the stump of an old tree, the new tree starts reaching up. Part of the fascinating delicate eco system of this rainforest.
Which influenced my choice to hand mount archival prints onto wood. this technique creates a painting like depth and texture while maintaining the rawness of the outdoors.
