the colour of the water and light made watching this jellyfish so hypnotic. I used to do that down at the docks when I was little. the flat water made it seem like I was peering into another world entirely. this series is the closest I’ve gotten to showing the delicate, mesmerizing flight of the jellyfish. this triptych is three separate photos of the same jellyfish and the finished piece is three separate pieces meant to be hung together.

my process

I was raised in a family of woodworkers, where I learned how to work with wood and refinish furniture.

Which influenced my choice to hand mount archival prints onto wood. this technique creates a painting like depth and texture while maintaining the rawness of the outdoors.
